Bill Hubbard is the Southern Regional Extension Forester and is based at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He facilitates regional education, Extension and technology transfer programs among the 13 southern land-grant universities, the USDA Forest Service, state forestry agencies and others within the southern forestry community. He received his forestry training at the University of Florida and taught forest management and economics there for five years. He also managed the Florida Forest Stewardship and urban forestry Extension efforts while a faculty member at the University of Florida. He has been in his current position for 17 years.
Current projects include:
- The Master Tree Farmer/Master Wildlifer Satellite Video Series
- The forestry and natural resource aspects of the Cooperative Extension Curriculum Project
- Collaborative oversight of several knowledge management and internet projects
- Development of an online regional peer-reviewed Extension publication process

Sarah is an Educational Program Coordinator and joined the SREF staff during the summer of 2006 after completing a Masters of Science in Forestry at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Currently, Sarah is providing leadership in the development and implementation of an online urban forestry manual. Sarah is also overseeing a project that involves continuing education with the Longleaf Alliance. Before joining SREF, Sarah completed a year with Americorps where she participated in Chesapeake Bay conservation and restoration work. Additionally, she spent a year managing volunteers with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Sarah loves forestry, but would some day love to diversify her skills by managing and owning a goat farm.

Darryl is the IT Senior Manager for SREF and has a diverse and extensive background in information and construction technologies. Darryl holds a Bachelors degree from The University of Tampa in Computer Science and minors in both Accounting and Business Administration. Darryl joined SREF in 2008 and currently manages the information technology projects and IT infrastructure. Darryl also works closely with our clients to plan, design and develop new leading edge web sites and re-engineer legacy sites to meet the needs of today's internet savvy users. Previously, Darryl has worked for several top companies such as Computer Associates, CitiStreet and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida where he has managed, designed, developed and implemented many successful enterprise IT systems. Throughout his career, Darryl has gained valuable business experience and knowledge in the areas of accounting, human resources, mortgage and wholesale lending, insurance, drug retail, agriculture, forestry and residential construction.

Leslie Boby is as an Extension Associate for Southern Regional Extension Forestry and joined the staff in Fall of 2011. Leslie is the lead SREF staff member for the extension component of the Pine Integrated Network: Mitigation and Adaptation Project (PINEMAP), a regional project focused on protecting and enhancing Pine Plantations from climate variability. Additionally, Leslie works with the extension end of the Southeastern Partnership for Integrated Biomass Supply Systems (SE-IBSS), another large, regional project, which is promoting economically and environmentally sustainable production and conversion of biomass-to-biofuel in the southeast. Prior to joining SREF, Leslie worked all over the country and completed a Masters in Ecology (concentration in forest resources) at the University of Florida. She has worked as a Volunteer Coordinator in Georgia, conducted forest fire research in Florida and Alaska, worked for the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in New Mexico, as a weed killer in California and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. She has ended the nomadic part of her life and lives with her family in Athens, Georgia.

Raina Sheridan is working as an Extension Associate in the SREF office, and joined the team in December of 2011. Raina graduated from the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry with a B.S. in Soils and Hydrology and a Master’s in Forest Ecology. Currently, she is working on 3 very different projects; the largest is serving as a project leader for a collaborative effort in the field of Urban Forestry and Energy Conservation for providing educational information and products through eXtension. Also, she is working on updating the Service Forester’s Handbook and implementing a professional networking analysis within the field of water resources management, for the USDA Forest Service. Raina has a wide range of experience in Natural Resources including native and invasive plant identification, watershed and wetland assessment, modeling carbon cycling in bioenergy plantations, soil analysis, and habitat assessment. In her free time, she enjoys nature photography and propagating native plants.

Matt joined the SREF staff in 2004 after completing a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia. Matt assists on a part-time basis in the development and support of our many leading edge web site projects . His coursework involved numerous projects and studies that make him a valuable asset to SREF.
