Natural Resource Specialist (Training Coordinator) - GS-0401-9

The Southern Research Station is advertising for a three-year term employee located in Gainesville, FL. This position will work within InterfaceSouth of the Centers for Urban and Interface Forestry - a unit of the Southern Research Station located on the University of Florida campus.

The incumbent serves as a training coordinator for a region-wide project to further implement and develop the Changing Roles: WUI Professional Development Program.

 

The incumbent of the position performs the following duties:

  • assist trainers with trainings as needed and facilitate interaction between trainers in different States and potential partners (e.g.s extension, planners).
  • develops partnerships with professional organizations and agencies working in the wildland-urban interface to help distribute and integrate Changing Roles into their management and practice.
  • writes grants to solicit funds for continued development and implementation of the program and materials.
  • adds to and modifies existing materials and develop new modules as needed.
  • develops new strategies such as web-based, just-in-time platforms, to train more people in the Changing Roles program.
  • assembles and distributes materials; evaluates materials and workshops; updates Web site content; and records and promotes successful and unsuccessful strategies implementing Changing Roles.
