Extension Forest Management and Economics Position

The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Clemson University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, permanent, tenure-track Extension Forest Management and Economics faculty position (20% teaching, 20% research, 60% extension) located on the main campus of Clemson University. The position will entail teaching two undergraduate forestry courses, including forest resource economics, and one graduate course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong research and extension program centered on forest resource management, economics, and forest taxation. An important component of the position is serving as the forestry and natural resources program team leader for 6-10 extension agents across South Carolina, and developing and delivering effective extension programs to private forest landowners in the state.

A first-professional degree in forestry from an accredited university is required as well as a Ph.D., preferably in forest economics or forest management. Demonstrated forestry experience in extension, teaching, and research is desirable and candidates should preferably have an established record of extramural funding, peer-reviewed and extension publications, and collaborative interactions. Candidates must also have the qualifications to become a registered forester in South Carolina.
