DESCRIPTION:The Southern Research Station of the USDA Forest Service i
 s pleased to announce their 18th Crossett Forestry Field Day on May 5\
 , 2004 at the Crossett Experimental Forest.  Located 7 miles south of 
 Crossett\, Arkansas on Highway 133\, the Crossett Experimental Forest 
 has showcased the research and demonstration of good forestry practice
 s in naturally regenerated stands of loblolly and shortleaf pine for o
 ver 60 years.  The topic of this years Forestry Field Day is "Economic
  Aspects of Managing Non-Industrial Private Forestlands."  Presentatio
 ns are planned on the economics of naturally-regenerated stands\, the 
 value of consulting foresters\, conservation economics in private fore
 stry\, and private landowner timber tax issues.  Landowners\, forester
 s\, and loggers are invited to attend.  Registration for the Crossett 
 Forestry Field Day is $25\, and includes on-site transportation\, lunc
 h\, and other refreshments.  Registration starts at 8 a.m. and present
