Restoring the Shortleaf Pine/Oak Savanna Ecosystem: A Working Group Symposium
The purpose of this meeting is to bring together those state and federal agencies, NGOs, academics, and other professionals interested in increasing the awareness of the full range and potential of shortleaf pine/oak savanna ecosystems. While meeting, we will get an educational primer on shortleaf pine/oak savanna restoration, investigate the need for building partnerships to encourage and promote the restoration of these ecosystems and provide an opportunity for participants to give input into a restoration plan inclusive of critical problem identification, current and necessary information needs, and actions steps that need to be taken in the next five years to increase the planting of shortleaf pines and the establishment of shortleaf pine/oak savanna ecosystems.
