Second Announcement and Call for Papers for Small-scale Rural Forest Use and Management: Global Policies Versus Local Knowledge
Attached is the Second Announcement and Call for Papers for Small-scale Rural Forest Use and Management: Global Policies Versus Local Knowledge to be held in Gérardmer, France, 23-27 June 2008. Since the first announcement, the IUFRO Task Force on Traditional Forest Knowledge led by John Parrotta has joined as a co-organiser of the conference. The other groups involved are IUFRO 3.08 Small-scale Forestry, IUFRO 6.12 Analysis and evaluation of forest policies and programmes and the European Forest Institute.Deadline for abstracts to be submitted for the 1st Call for Papers is 15 November, 2007. Presentation slots are very limited and potential participants are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts in response to the first call to have the maximum chance of receiving one of the available slots. A second call will be made in January but abstracts for that call will only be accepted on a space available basis.The conference website has been established at http://www.uq.edu.au/forestry/index.html and will be progressively updated as new information becomes available.
