News Item Virginia Tech selects Paul Winistorfer as new dean for College of Natural Resources
CONTACT: Lynn Davis(540) 231-6157 -- davisl@vt.edu -- Senior Vice President and Provost Mark McNamee announced Wednesday that Winistorfer, who currently heads the college's Department of Wood Science and Forest Products, will assume the duties of dean on Aug. 1, when Mike Kelly steps down after serving the college with great distinction as dean for the past five years.
News Item Williamson Serves in Shared Faculty Position
Dr. Bob Williamson of North Carolina A&T University is serving in a shared faculty position covering CSREES Wildlife and Fisheries national program responsibilities. Williamson is committing 20 percent of his time to this position, which began March 1, 2007. Williamson's principal responsibility is to represent CSREES on wildlife and fisheries concerns. This includes addressing the wildlife and fisheries component in the upcoming annual review of the USDA Strategic Plans Goal 6 - "Protect and Enhance the Nations Natural Resource Base and Environment." He will also represent CSREES at the 2008 North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference.

WASHINGTON, January 12, 2007 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the selection of Abigail Kimbell as the 16th chief of the Forest Service. Kimbell succeeds Chief Dale Bosworth, who is retiring on Feb. 2 after 41 years with the Forest Service.
