Essential Job Functions:  build and maintain a strong research record; teach Forest Policy, Economics, Administration and general forestry-based courses, serve as an expert in state and federal regulations; monitor changes in forest policy and the economic implications associated with such changes; prepare students to function in a culturally and ethnically diverse society; and serve as a liaison to state-level forest administration

Qualifications:

1. A Ph.D. or equivalent in Forestry or a closely related field specializing in Forest Policy, Economics, and Administration from an accredited institution of higher education

2. Three years of professional experience in academic leadership at the level of department chairperson or higher, or comparable professional experience

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

4.Potential for or record of research, scholarly and/or creative activity, involving students whenever possible

 5.Varied teaching methods

6.Ability to teach a broad range of courses to a diverse student body

Humboldt seeks to fill this position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level; however, a higher rank may be considered depending upon the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Initial salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
