The Forest and Wildlife Research Center/College of Forest Resources, Mississippi State University is seeking to fill a 12-month, Tenure-track, full time, Assistant Professor Position with research, teaching and service responsibilities in the area of wood protection and preservation, within the Department of Forest Products.

Essential Job Functions: develop and conduct a nationally-recognized, extramurally funded program of research in forest products/wood science and technology (emphasis on research and development in wood protection and preservation, bioproducts science, sustainability, building science, etc.); collaborate within the department, college and university as well as with external stakeholders (industry, other universities, government and nongovernmental organizations); teach undergraduate and graduate courses as appropriate; and assist in programmatic student advising, curriculum development, and other departmental responsibilities as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. from an accredited institution in either Wood Science/Forest Products or an allied scientific discipline such as biology, mycology, marketing, business , etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in forest products or a related field with respect to proposing, conducting and producing applied and basic research results.
