Michigan State University, the nation’s pioneer land-grant university, seeks an experienced, dynamic, strategic, visionary, and collaborative leader for the position of Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Essential Job Functions: oversee CANR’s programs, budgets, MSU AgBioResearch, MSU Extension, and international programs; work collaboratively with a range of internal and diverse constituencies (including department chairs, the College Advisory Committee, the faculty, deans of fellow MSU colleges) and outside stakeholders to foster a strategic, innovative program; establish external relations; strengthen inter-department and inter-college bonds; diversify and enhance revenue sources; strengthen diversity; and enhance research for the College and MSU.



Minimum Qualifications:

1. earned doctorate in a relevant field with outstanding scholarly accomplishments

2. significant, successful record of administrative leadership including supervisory and budgetary experience

3. the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external constituencies at all levels in a complex and diverse environment

4. the capacity to work collegially and inspire faculty, directors, and chairs during a period of exciting change in their field

5. exceptional communication skills

6. commitment to diversity
