Responsibilities will include: (1) coordinating the Forest Landowner Education Program, including the development and delivery of both live and web-based educational programs; (2) preparing educational materials such as extension bulletins, presentations, web-based publications, etc.; (3) preparing and distributing the Forest Landowner Update, a periodical newsletter and events calendar; (4) preparing reports, writing grant proposals, and securing external funding to support the program; and (5) participating fully in policies and programs of Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Required qualifications: B.S. and M.S. in Forestry, with educational background in forest management, forestry operations, silviculture, or related area.  Must demonstrate ability to write well and to speak effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to work as part of a “team" with Department of Forestry faculty Extension Specialists and Virginia Tech's partners. Computer skills are also a requirement.
