The position will develop and deliver an effective forest product utilization and marketing extension and research program focusing on the needs of Ohio's forest products industries and addressing interests, concerns, and opportunities related to those industries.

Position:          Program Specialist -- Forest Industries/Wood Products Utilization

 

Location:        The Ohio State University South Centers, Piketon, Ohio

 

Responsibilities:  The position will develop and deliver an effective forest product utilization and marketing extension and research program focusing on the needs of Ohio's forest products industries and addressing interests, concerns, and opportunities related to those industries.  That effort will include but is not limited to programs aimed at the logging industry, addressing issues and practices to economically and efficiently harvest and utilize forest resources in an environmentally responsible way; and programs aimed at improving the economics and efficiency of small and mid-sized primary and secondary forest industries.

 

Qualifications:  Minimum of an M.S. degree, with at least one degree in an appropriate area related to forest industries/wood products utilization, or a suitable combination of education and experience.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to develop and deliver educational programs appropriate for a variety of clientele, as well as a willingness to work closely with a variety of colleagues and clientele.  Demonstrated success working in or with the Forest Industry is desirable. 

 

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
