Location:  Jackson, MS

 

Salary:  Negotiable

Duties and Responsibilities:  The state forester provides administrative direction for the overall operation of the Mississippi Forestry Commission.  Under the guidance of a nine-member commission, the State Forester manages the agency to ensure that the mission, goals, and objectives of the Mississippi Forestry Commission are accomplished.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  At least one professional degree in forestry from a college or university accredited by the Society of American Foresters, the ability to become licensed and registered under the Mississippi Foresters Registration Law within the 2006 calendar year, and five years of professional forestry experience.
