NASF Internship Opportunity

The National Association of State Foresters (NASF) is seeking a qualified candidate for internship opportunity in Washington, DC.

Who Should Apply: Advanced undergraduate or graduate students at SAF-accredited forestry schools with strong interest in forest policy. Outstanding writing skills and ability to work quickly are absolutely necessary. NASF representatives will work with academic institution to arrange for academic credit. Preference will be given to applicants who are receiving academic credit for the internship.

 

Duties: Attend and report on Congressional hearings on forestry and natural resources issues, interact with wide variety of forest policy makers.  Work with Legislative Assistant to assist legislative tracking. Attend other meetings with agency and interest group representatives as necessary. Assist with NASF office duties as needed.

 

Stipend: Selected candidate will be paid stipend of $250.00 per week. No other benefits. NASF encourages interested candidates to work with academic institution for financial aid.

 

Starting/Ending Dates: On or around May 9 until August 5, 2005. Dates negotiable for 13 week period.  The successful Candidate will be notified of a decision on March 1, 2005.
