The Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Department Head is responsible for leadership in a multidisciplinary natural resources program in forestry, wildlife, fisheries, and wood science. The Head should help identify appropriate funding opportunities for faculty to become involved in research in keeping with the department's mission. QUALIFICATIONS:
The Head will have a Ph.D. in forestry, wildlife, fisheries, wood science, or a closely related field, with nationally recognized accomplishments in teaching, research, or extension. A keen appreciation of these three areas and disciplines within the department is necessary. Experience in fiscal and personnel management is essential. The skills to communicate effectively with people at all levels, and the ability to provide progressive leadership for multidisciplinary programs are necessary attributes. Involvement in appropriate professional societies is essential. A strong commitment to professional development of faculty, staff, and students is required. Evidence of effective interaction with industry, governmental, and non-governmental agencies is essential, also. Must be knowledgeable of and committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity.
SALARY:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
