The Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center (FRESC) is seekingapplications for a permanent full-time position as a Research Ecologistor a Research Forester. FRESC is a component of the BiologicalResources Division of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) located on thecampus of Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR. The primary dutieswill include: (a) integrating existing research and coordinating futureresearch conducted under the Cooperative Forest Ecosystem Researchproject; (b) addressing research needs of resource management agencies;and (c) developing a complex research program to address a multiple setof topics such as reforestation, effects of fire, tree harvest, andother disturbances of forest community development. The incumbent musthave a Ph.D. in forestry, natural resources, or botany with aspecialization in forest ecology. The successful candidate will be ableto demonstrate a history of the ability to propose, fund, conduct, andpublish research in forest ecology. Salary ranges from $51,927 to$89,279 per year and benefits include health and life insurancecoverage, flexible work schedules, Employee Assistance Program,vacation and sick leave, and Familv-Friendlv Leave policies.
