This Staff Forester works under the general supervision of the Forest Protection Chief and serves as the subject matter expert for the Division in matters of forest health. Considerable expertise in forest insects and diseases is required of the successful candidate for this position.

Job Summary: This Staff Forester works under the generalsupervision of the Forest Protection Chief and serves as the subjectmatter expert for the Division in matters of forest health.Considerable expertise in forest insects and diseases is required ofthe successful candidate for this position.
Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: maintaining asafe work environment for employees and the public; overseeing themonitoring of forest disease and pest activities across the state;developing and implementing control protocols; disseminating technicalinformation through personal contacts, pest alerts, news releases andreports to landowners and others in the forestry community; providingtraining for Division personnel; partnering with other governmentagencies especially the U.S. Forest Service in achieving control offorest health problems; participating in or leading evaluation projectsand administering state and/or federal grant programs.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a Society of AmericanForesters accredited college or university with a Masters Degree inForest Entomology or Pathology.
